The Jefferson & Armstrong Awards
Dogs for Diabetics is proud that its Founder and President, Mark Ruefenacht, has been recognized as a Jefferson Award Bronze & Silver Medalist, for his work in developing volunteerism within the community through his work with Guide Dogs for the Blind and Dogs for Diabetics. His work has inspired hundreds of volunteers to provide disabled persons with the support of these wonderful dogs to improve their daily lives. View the CBS story and video explaining his work .
In order to share the spirit of the Jefferson Award, Dogs for Diabetics is pleased to recognize the support of its volunteers with the annual presentation of the Armstrong Awards, named after D4D’s founding Canine, who passed away in 2012.
Armstrong’s Inner Circle Award
Awarded to persons who have made critical contributions to D4D. This award is only given to persons who are not clients of D4D. Their sole motivation is the mission of the organization to which they have dedicated their time, talents and resources.

Awarded to persons or organizations who have provided support over time to D4D that has been significant in supporting its mission. This award will be presented to Organizations and Clients who have made a significant contribution to D4D’s ability to carry out its mission.
