Dogs4Diabetics is pleased to announce the Fun & Exciting Summer D4D Kids Camp for insulin-dependent diabetic children and teens!
Children and teens are invited to participate in a day camp at D4D to learn about what life is like with a service dog. Plus, learn how a hypoglycemic-alert dog can become a part of your life!
This program will address opportunities for children of all ages to obtain and work with either a publicly accessible service dog or a non-accessible D4D Diabetes Buddy Dog for use in the home.
Insulin-Dependent Diabetic Children and Teen:
D4D places Diabetes Buddy Dogs with children under age 12. With skills to address the needs and capabilities of the child and parent!
Learn and see D4D dogs in training. Also, D4D’s youthful clients have integrated these dogs into their daily lives.
Parents will learn from D4D parents how these dogs have filled an important role in supporting their child’s lives with diabetes. Also, the day will answer lots of questions, and help you decide if this is for you and your family!
There will be dogs, and fun activities. Bring a lunch!
A parent or guardian must attend with their child/teen. However, due to space constraints, this event will accommodate the first 25 diabetic kids and 25 parents. For a total of 50 people to register.
