Want to Make a Difference in a Diabetic's Life?
Become a Foster Home for D4D!
You can help provide our dogs to diabetics in need by becoming a foster home. Foster homes provide a safe loving home for our dogs while they complete the first part of our training program.
What do you need to become a Foster Home?
Our dogs need to come into our Concord training center Monday through Thursday for training, so you need to have the ability to drop them off/pick them up on those days. During evenings and/or weekends the dog will accompany you for continued socialization. Any personal pets need to be current on vaccines, including Bordatella for dogs.
What does D4D provide?
D4D provides someone to call should you need information or support at any time. We also provide the basic supplies for care of the dog, such as food, a crate, collar, bowls, bedding, toys, routine veterinary care and grooming supplies.
How long will the dog be in your foster home?
Each dog learns at an individual pace so the length of time in foster homes varies.
Generally speaking, the foster home commitment is 2 to 6 months.
